Dongseo Foods Limited Edition of “Oreo x Black Pink” “Popular”

Dongseo Food is presenting a limited edition “Oreo x Blapink” (photo) in collaboration with Korea’s leading sand biscuit “Oreo” and the world-renowned female idol group “Black Pink” to give consumers a new experience.

Dongseo Food explained, “This product, which was introduced in February, caught the attention of consumers by adding pink strawberry cream in the black version and dark chocolate cream in the pink version.”

In particular, the Oreo package with the crown design symbolized the historic collaboration between the two brands, the company said. The crown utilized the symbols that appeared on BLACKPINK’s first full-length album “THE ALBUM” to emphasize its stylishness.

This is not the first time Dongseo Foods has been marketing Oreo limited edition. Oreo Sandwich Cookie Red Velvet, which was released as a limited edition in 2017, sold out 1 million units while satisfying both the fun of eating and watching. It was officially released in November 2019. Compared to the existing Oreo, the amount of cream is increased by 1.5 times and both taste and aroma are strengthened, so you can feel a darker and sweeter cream cheese taste.

Lee Soo-ah, marketing manager of Dongseo Food, said, “This new product, which will be introduced as a limited edition, will provide a different experience with Cookie Oreo enjoyed by people around the world and BLACKPINK, a global artist.”

Meanwhile, Oreo is known as the world’s most popular sandwich cookie since its birth in the United States in 1912. In Korea, Dongseo Food is ranked No. 1 in the domestic sandwich biscuit market by releasing new products of various flavors, focusing on two products, “Oreo” and “Oreo Scenes,” which are about 43% thinner.
